Creve Coeur, MO - Part Time

We are expanding our team and currently hiring additional part-time, flexible Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers. This includes the following zip codes: 63017, 63146 and 63141, 63132, 63124, and 63131. Due to the intense driving and variable schedule we ask our flexible staff to live in the area they service. Applicants will be considered if they live within one of the above zip codes. 

This is a flexible as-needed position and includes day, evening, and weekend opportunities with optional overnights.

We do not have temporary or seasonal positions available (i.e. summer for students in town, bridge positions, etc)

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Pet Care Experience - general knowledge of multiple species
  • Must have the ability to work with all breeds and sizes
  • Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds and walk at a brisk pace for 30 min at a time, multiple times a day
  • Have your own functional and reliable transportation
  • Have a newer smartphone (iOS 9 or newer and Android 4.1 or newer) and a home computer with internet access 

Responsible for the following:

  • Providing care to animals (mainly dogs and cats) including walking, feeding and other tasks as needed.
  • Communication with the central office
  • Continuing education provided
  • Providing client communications, education, and follow-up
  • Participates as a team member with company events/programs

What else do I need to know about joining the 4-Legged Kids Team?

We are looking for pet lovers who understand and accept the responsibilities we will place on them- our clients depend on us! We do not just play with cute kitties and puppies. We walk dogs when it's 90 degrees or below freezing out. You may have to carry a dog up and down stairs, lift food bags or search under every couch and bed for a cat. We clean up after them, feed them, administer medication, and go above and beyond for our clients.

This business is variable and schedules will vary from day to day. We realize working under these flexible and changing conditions can be difficult for some people. This is the nature of our industry and your dependability in this area is crucial. If you enjoy change and variety in the workplace then this will be perfect for you!

You will receive ongoing education and training on various aspects of pet care and behavior.. You will be trained to handle unexpected situations in pet care and admin support is a phone call away.

We are looking for mature, responsible people who are reliable, patient, and capable of independent action. We invest time and money into training our employees and require a minimum 6-month commitment… we would rather have you for years! We are #1 in the St. Louis area and look forward to finding out more about you!

We rely heavily on technology to perform our job. We access pet care instructions, communicate with our team, and provide updates to clients, all with pet-care industry apps. The apps we use require a modern smartphone with access to unlimited data and GPS.

We offer both in-home dog walking during the workday (10am-4pm, M-F) and in-home pet sitting when clients travel (7/365).

We do not hire anyone who works on a pet care app or for themselves. Do you understand that you would not be able to provide dog walking or pet sitting services for anyone else while employed by the company?*
Will you be available to host a dog in your home for private boarding when the owner travels? This is not a daily or weekly occurrence.*
Will you be available for overnight pet sitting, sleeping in a pet parent's home from approximately 9 pm to 6 am the next morning? This is not a daily or weekly occurrence.*
This position will require that you have the ability to walk multiple dogs in an outdoor environment. You may encounter the need to traverse steps, wet, slippery, and uneven terrain. You will be required to clean up animal waste. Some animals may require you to pick them up (lifting up to 50lbs.). You may also interact with the general public, and the dogs they may also own.
